Our Team Approach
at the Urologic Tumor Center

Urologic Oncology TeamVCU Massey Cancer Center pioneered the concept of multidisciplinary teams — a practice in which multiple genito-urinary cancer specialists meet regularly to evaluate, discuss and plan treatments for patients. This approach means that patients can get all of their treatments at the same place from people who work together and communicate regularly, rather than putting the burden on patients to coordinate communication among various doctors throughout the region.

Our Team

Other team members include Asit Paul, MD, medical oncology, Steven C. Smith, MD, PhD, surgical pathology; Michael Hagan, MD, PhD, radiation oncology, Anthony Herndon, MD, pediatric urology; Mayer Grob, MD,urologic oncology; Jinxing Yu, MD, a diagnostic radiologist; and Jennifer Hopsicker, RN, who coordinates the clinic.
