The Division of Pediatric Urology specializes in diagnosing and treating the urologic needs of infants, children and adolescents.
We provide compassionate, family-centered care using the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques, including minimally invasive procedures, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our youngest patients.
Our team of faculty, residents, nurses and advanced practice providers are proud to collaborate at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. This beautiful facility, built in the heart of downtown Richmond in 2019, is dedicated to the full spectrum of pediatric care, bringing outpatient, surgical, inpatient and emergency services together under one roof to provide seamless, coordinated care for children and families.
As fellowship-trained subspecialists, our faculty are committed to delivering exceptional patient care for all conditions affecting children’s urinary and related systems, including:
- Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR)
- Prenatal hydronephrosis
- Bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis)
- Voiding dysfunction
- Epispadias
- Hernia and hydrocele
- Kidney stones
- Neurogenic bladder (e.g., caused by spina bifida)
- Posterior urethral valves (PUV)
- Retractile testicle
- Undescended testicle
- Recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs)
- Urinary tract obstruction
Top in urology care: Greyson’s story
The swelling in Greyson’s kidneys (hydronephrosis) was discovered before he was even born, and our urology team has monitored his kidneys since his birth in 2013. His condition can often resolve on its own, but when he developed kidney stones, it became evident that he needed surgery.
